Half-Bathroom | Bathroom Remodeling - Philadelphia | Trenton NJ
A powder room, also commonly referred to as a half bath, is often located on the first floor near public areas. If you have a true powder room, that is a half bath that has limited use, you can consider finer materials that might not be practical or economical in heavy-traffic baths. With limited space, stylish and practical design options include a pedestal sink, a cornersink and vanity, and using high-end materials for the fixtures and surfaces.
If space is tight investigate small scale fixtures. To compensate for the lack of counter space, you can install a shelf for soaps and guests' makeup. Be sure to include mirror with sufficient lighting, or even better a mirrored-door medicine cabinet.
Consider your lifestyle when designing your powder room. In many homes, the downstairs half bath gets heavy traffic form family members, visiting children, neighbors, and other guests. If this is the case you can still go for a stylish and practical design, but you may want to modify your selection of preffered materials.
